What makes this brush work?

Brush shape and construction

Choose a part of the brush to learn what it does. Product-specific properties appear separately above when the relevant metafield is populated.

Bristles

The working end of the brush carries and releases paint. Its shape, material and condition influence the mark it can make.

What does stiffness tell me?
Stiffness describes resistance when the bristles meet the surface. The product-specific rating above appears only when a stiffness value is recorded.
Why does springiness matter?
Springiness describes how readily the brush returns toward its shape after pressure. It can affect control and the feel of a stroke.
Water and paint retention
Water retention describes how much water the brush can carry; paint retention describes how much paint it can pick up and hold. Use the ratings above as product-specific guidance when supplied.
